Firstly may I thank all the enthusiasts who take excellent photos of operator buses and coaches. The photos are beautifully presented and in most times in perfect light.

Dear operator, next time you have an enthusiast arrive at the depot please let them in to the yard and capture your history. Without this important group of dedicated members of the bus and coach industry, this book and the collective pictorial history of our Industry would not have been possible in the detail that it incorporates into this publication.

The data base for this publication had over 2500 entries, some of which never made it into the book. Nevertheless, I’m very grateful to all the contributions that gave me a broad selection to choose from.

Contributors are listed in first name alphabetical order and in no priority. They include:

There are also a small number of inclusions where the photographer has not been identified. I apologise to these unknown historians although every attempt has been made to try and establish their identities.

I would also like to acknowledge the work that Amanda does putting up with me taking my “fuzzy” images and producing the covers for the book and also setting up the pages to fill. My two daughters and their husbands, Eleanor and Zac for styling the book with fonts and Kathleen and Michael for the being on call for the logistics distribution task.

Also like to acknowledge several special people who keep on motivating me to create these pictorial histories. Craig Coop, BusNSW, BCSV members, Amanda Finneran and my family, my brother John and the adopted brother Ray Boddenberg or Freddie Freeloader as he is known in our family.

To those who have supported me with endless questions about clarifications of the captions include Peter Hodgson, Ian Lynas, Paul Kennelly, Nick Wilson, John Ward, Greg Travers and Ron Drummond. Very special thanks to Richard Noy, my old MAN boss, who continues to teach me and fill me with alcoholic pain killer.
